| Thursday Practice is at 7pm in Duffy Daugherty on MSU Campus | 11/5/09 | Parents and Players,
Today's practice is going to be held from 7-9pm at MSU's Duffy Daugherty Building again. As you can see from last night, the surface impacted our game, and we got more comfortable as the game went on. We'd like to increase that comfort level by providing this surface for the next couple practices. *Note, tomorrow will likely be in Grand Rapids at the 28th Street exit, or in Howell...we hope to have that all defined by tonight's training.
A couple things to note about tonight...
1) There is both a Hockey Game and a Women's Basketball game on campus tonight, and parking will be harder to get into and a fee tonight ($5), so we are encouraging a carpool, or a parent drop off.
2) The other is we are asked not to enter the facility until 7pm. Football will be finishing practice, and we must remain out of the arena until 7pm.
Again, parking is best/closest in Lot 79 [which is the south lot of the Stadium on West Shaw Lane]. Follow this link for Location here. Parents can drop the kids off and pick them up as well of course.
There is a big white striped painted cross walk across Shaw that takes you to the Clara Bell Smith Academic Center, Duffy Indoor Building and the new Skandalaris Center.
The entrance to Duffy we need to take is in between Smith and Skandalaris Center [to the right of the big glass entrance at Smith - before Skandalaris - DO NOT ENTER EITHER LOCATION].
Arrive as close to 7pm as you can, but do not rush - MSU Police watch speed on campus very closely. Please drive safe.
Any questions, please email at coach@holtsoccer.com or call Coach Camron on his mobile at 517-204-6120.

| Practice locations Monday and Tuesday | 11/1/09 | Players/Parents -
Great win for our program Saturday! We are part of a very special group.
As we prepare for our Semifinal matchup, we are still not sure exactly where we play or on which kind of surface. We will know early Monday and will be selecting where we will be practicing based on our field type.
Plan on a normal practice, but please bring equipment for us to move to a location on campus at MSU with the Sport Turf if that is what we need to prepare for.
We'll let you know with another email like this as soon as we find out. Driving arrangements will need to be made as well.
Any questions, please email us at coach@holtsoccer.com
Thanks

| Help still needed this week during District hosting | 10/20/09 | Parents in the Holt Soccer program - boys and girls,
We are having a difficult time finding enough help in the concession stand for this week's District games. Our coaching staff and Athletics department worked hard to get our school to host the District tournament to keep our boys from traveling to play in the state tournament.
To date, we still have two slots we need to fill for tonight's {Tuesday} game, one for Thursday's game and a couple for Saturday's game at 3pm.
If you are able to help, or know of somebody who can spend some time helping the crew, we would really appreciate it!
Please email us back at 'coach@holtsoccer.com' with your phone number or please call Dennis Barens directly at (517) 749-8048 to get scheduled.
Thanks for your help! Coaching Staf

For all Varsity, and those JV players who were asked to participate with Varsity in the postseason, practice today is canceled in an effort to get everybody healthy. Please be there for practice Sunday at 4pm.
If you haven't seen it yet, here's the LSJ article on last nights game: http://tinyurl.com/yhmv76k

| Emails regarding rankings | 9/25/09 | Parents,
We've been notified that there have been several emails to the chair of the state-wide rankings coordinator (Kevin Tuite) regarding our team. He has shared that though some of these emails include just the facts of results, others have included messages complaining about our status in these rankings.
The boys have made their goals clear to us and each other - and none of them included being ranked - they would like to win championships...
Rest assured, Mr. Tuite know of our games and results - he's in constant contact with our staff directly.
We are very proud of how these boys have played so far, but know there is much room for improvement of how they perform as a team. As our successes get played out on the field during games, in the end, it's how we perform, not where we are listed on some website that will indicate a true successful season. There are 9 teams on that top 10 list from last year who all likely felt they deserved to be number 1...but it was indeed East Kentwood who beat everybody, so they got the lasting feeling of success.
We love your enthusiasm and support. As we enter the final couple weeks of the regular season and get ready to enter the state tournament, there is going to be many challenges, and we hope the hunger for that success, and the effort to truly be a champion starts in the home, so that when they get to each and every practice they are working hard to earn their spot at the top. They must remember that playing as a team is the only way to get there.
We look forward to a great Saturday and remaining weeks together with this truly special group of kids!

| Senior night information | 9/12/09 | Senior night activiies will be held on Wednesday, September 30th before the game against Grand Ledge.
There are a few things that need to be completed prior to that date. We are already working on the construction of players' soccer balls which are traditionally hung on the fence leading to the gate to the field. We will have those completed that week.
We will need each Senior parent to complete a "picture board" of your son to be placed on the fence along with the soccer balls. In the past these boards have been a collage created with both soccer and non-soccer memories of the players. We will purchase the boards and distribute them to the parents at the game on Wednesday, September 16th.
In addition, we will need each player/parent to complete a player info sheet for the senior night program and to be read while each player is being introduced on Senior night. We ask that the player "thank you's" be limited to 30 seconds to be read but they can expound on that if they wish for the program. The form will provide a place for both. We will provide a form at the game on the 16th. We ask that these be returned no later than the 23rd so that there is ample time to compile and include in the program. We will also need a curent photo and either a baby or youth photo to be included in the program.
Ron Carrier has offered to take pictures at Senior night. Thank you Ron. As each player is introduced on Senior night they will meet their parents/family at midfield for a small group photo.
Finally, it has been tradition for each Senior class to make a "Senior gift" to the soccer program. We will need to make a decision on that very soon.
We would like to have a short Senior parent meeting on Wednesday, September 16 to discuss all of the above. Let's meet at the small concession stand area at 6PM.
Thanks,
Mike and Tina Borek
