| Varsity Soccer Highlight DVD | 11/5/08 | The 2008 version of the varsity Highlight DVD is finished. The DVD contains some of the same segments as last year such as goals, foot skills, passing, defense and goal tending. It also contains highlights from our league, CAAC Gold Cup and District games, including the shootout at East Lansing. A new feature is a section of crashes set to the tune of "You Had a Bad Day." Please bring enough to serve 15- 18 people. Seniors bring Desserts, Juniors bring Salads and Veggies, Sophomores and Freshman bring Main Dishes
Please bring your own beverage, plate and silverware.

| More Banquet Info-a must read! | 11/4/08 | We are in need of volunteers to assist with preparing for the Soccer Banquet. We need 2 or 3 people to make the center pieces for each table. We need 5 or 6 volunteers to be at the high school by 5:30 to help set up and decorate. We need 1 or 2 volunteers to pick up disposable table cloths for the round tables and some extra place settings in case someone forgets theirs. We will need one person to make up and email invitations to our invited guests. And of course we will need 8-10 die hards to stick around after to help clean up. As always thanks for your support! |

| Memory Book Tonight | 10/30/08 | Tonight's gathering to work on the memory book will be in the East Commons at 6P. Please bring your pages and any pictures that others may be able to use. We are in need of pages and pictures for JVB. For those that may have a set of the Schooley DVD's please bring them if you are finished. Pictures can also be downloaded from the soccer website gallery. We need to have the book assembled by the end of the week so it can be delivered to the printer. |

| Memory Book Update | 10/27/08 | Space has been reserved at HHS to work on your son's memory book page. The first session is set for this Tuesday, October 28th from 6P-8:30P in room W113/MIC room. The second session is set for Thursday, October 30 from 6P-8:30P in the East Commons. You should plan on bringing photo's, stickers, and any scrapebooking items that you may have to facilitate in the assembly of your page. We are hoping to have all pages completed by the end of this week so that we can get them to the printer. |

| Memory Books, Concessions, Cookie Dough | 10/25/08 | There is a Memory Book Assembly session scheduled for Tuesday, October 28 at 6P at HHS. This time is set for folks to work on their son's memory book page. To facilitate this Pat Schooley has generously burned several sets of DVD's of the pictures from this season for you to download to your computer. You can arrange to borrow a set of these DVD's by contacting Pat at pat.schooley@sbcglobal.net.
Holt is also hosting the Boy's Division 1 semi final game on Wednesday, October 29 at 6P and we are responsible for providing concessions. We are in need of some volunteers to work this game. Please contact Jen Ziolkowski at 393-6818 or jen.ziolkowski@sbcglobal.net if you are able to help out.

| Great season boys! | 10/21/08 | With two 11 game winning streaks, and only one shutout, this team
shattered a few records en route to the third District title in school
history. Scoring 95 goals, 11 shutouts in 22 victories, as well as
posting the fewest losses this young team performed at a pace that
surprised everybody. For the first time we finished ranked #1 in the
area after winning the CAAC Gold Cup, Beat East Lansing, Okemos and
Mason in the same year and topped that off by winning the districts and
landed in the top ten rankings!
There are many things to be proud of this year on and off the field.
Enjoy the off season, Work hard in all you do and for those returning,
be prepared to expect even more!

| Monday Practice is at 3pm in Duffy Daugherty on MSU Campus | 10/20/08 | Parents and Players,
Today's practice is going to be held from 3-4:30 at MSU's Duffy Daugherty Building. It is located across the street from Spartan Stadium on West Shaw Lane.
We are instructed to park in Lot 79 [which is the south lot of the Stadium on West Shaw Lane]. Follow this link for exact Location here. (Parking will cost $0.80 per 1/2 hour, so please bring a couple bucks to exit). Parents can drop the kids off and pick them up as well of course.
There is a big white striped painted cross walk across Shaw that takes you to the Clara Bell Smith Academic Center, Duffy Indoor Building and the new Skandalaris Center.
The entrance to Duffy we need to take is in between Smith and Skandalaris Center [to the right of the big glass entrance at Smith - before Skandalaris - DO NOT ENTER EITHER LOCATION].
This is a full size sport turf field like we will be playing on at East Kentwood.
Arrive as close to 3pm as you can, but do not rush. Drive Safely. Will will end at 4:30 as the football team will be arriving.

| Tuesday Game at East Kentwood | 10/20/08 | A couple reminder for tomorrows game.
1) Bus leaves at 3:30
2) Game time is 6:00pm at Crestwood Middle School
3) Directions are on the website
4) If we advance, the team will stay for part of the second game to see the team we play next. (either way it will be a late return and the boys will need money to eat)
Thanks again for getting all the boys to MSU today. It was a great experience for them, and great preperation for the game!

| Monday Oct 20 Practice update | 10/19/08 | Due to the fact that Tuesday's Regional game at East Kentwood is on sport turf, we are working on securing a place to practice that has a similar surface.
We thought we'd have it finalized by tonight, but MSU still needs to get back with us and has promised to by noon or so on Monday, and we're waiting to hear back from the Lansing Indoor Sports Arena as well.
Please stay tuned to your email and instruct your boys to either find Coach Conner in the Counseling office or Coach Smith in his room after 1pm. We'll have it posted on their doors if they are not available, and we'll have it posted on the calendar portion of the website as well by that time [http://www.holtsoccer.com/calendar.php].
In either case, the boys will be responsible for finding a ride to and from the practice location and will be encouraged to car pool to save on gas and parking requirements if we end up on campus at MSU. We will also adjust the practice time to allow plenty of safe travel if needed.

| Important Soccer Info for You | 10/7/08 | Here is some important Soccer Information for you:
1. The Cookie Dough pick up will be on Thursday, October 16 after school and again right after practice at the loading dock in the back of the High School. Make sure you make arrangements to pick up your order.
2. The soccer banquet is scheduled for Wednesday, November 12 in the West Commons at HHS. Stay tuned for additional information.
3. A tradition of Holt Soccer is the parents put together a page of photos of their son highlighting the soccer season. Each player's page is collected and compiled with the others player's pages to form a Memory Book that is given to each player. There will be an announcement coming soon about dates and times to meet to work on your son's page. You can begin this proecess by going to the Holt Soccer website and clicking on the Galleries section and then clicking on the link for this year where hundreds of photos have been posted thanks to Pat Schooley and Ron Carrier.

| Potluck after 9/18 Game to honor Seniors | 9/16/08 | This Thursday, September 18 is Senior Night for the Holt Rams Soccer Team. To celebrate with our Senior players we are planning to serve food after the game. If you are able please bring a dessert, drink, fruit, or whatever. | Mason Invite-this Saturday. | 9/1/08 | This Saturday the Varsity is playing in the Mason Invitational. It has been suggested that we look to provide some healthy snacks and drink to the players between games instead of having them eat concession stand food.
With this in mind Dennis Barens has offered to procure all of the supplies for Saturday to save us from running around. We are asking each family to contribute $10.00 toward the cost. Any left over funds will be used for water and Gatorade for the Midland game the following Saturday.
You can pay Dennis either Tuesday night at the Grandville game or on Thursday in Jackson.
