| 2012 High School Girls Indoor Soccer League | 12/10/11 | The Holt Girls' Soccer Boosters are organizing an indoor session similar to prior years. Any girl currently in 9th through 12th grade interested in trying out for the high school soccer team this Spring is invited to participate. To determine rosters and number of teams, please contact Karen Blohm no later than December 21 at kblohm@proassurance.com or call 517-290-1189.
Based upon the number of girls who sign up, fees will be between $70 and $90 per player. Once the number of girls is determined, an email will be sent out the evening of the 21st listing the exact fee and payment instructions. A player will be eligible only if their fee is received by the requested date. There is no guarantee that you can play if you sign up after the 21st.

| Photos of 2010 Boys' Soccer Season | 8/26/10 | Ron Carrier and Pat Schooley will be photographing all Varsity Games, several JV Games and some Freshman Games. The photos will be posted to a custom viewing room on the SNAPFISH website where parents can view and purchase photos.

| Barens selcted ESPN Midwest Player of the Week | 11/5/09 | Barens, a Michigan State recruit, scored both goals as Holt advanced to
the Division 1 state semifinals with a pair of 1-0 victories last week.
In what amounts to the state quarterfinals, Barens' goal lifted Holt
past two-time defending state champion East Kentwood (Kentwood, Mich.).

| Record setting year | 10/24/09 | The Boys Varsity team has set a couple records to date this year. The first team from the Greater Lansing Area to finish the regular season undefeated, and as the team advances to the Regional tournament - 23 wins surpasses last years record 22 win total. |

| Rams win CAAC Silver Cup | 5/22/09 | With a 1-0 victory in the finals over the Charlotte Orioles, the Rams capture the CAAC Silver Cup championship. On the way to the championship, the Rams dispatched the LCC Cougars 4-0 and the Eaton Rapids Greyhounds 5-2.
The Rams controlled play most of the game and had several scoring opportunities, but the Charlotte goalie kept them in the game was some outstanding saves. With 10 minutes left, the Rams scored on a counter attacked that started in the defensive end with a nice shield and pass out by Alyson Moysher, Jamie Zelenski then passed it up the sideline to Liz DeJongh who drove it deep into the corner and placed a beautiful centering pass to the feet of Mandy Johnson. Mandy redirected the ball into the back of the net.
The Rams had to fight off several scoring opportunities from the Orioles in the last 2 minutes of the game.
The Rams next action will be the first round of district play on Tuesday 5/26 at 6:00pm at Holt High School verus the Everett Vikings. |

| Holt Girls Win Redwing Invite. | 4/20/09 | The Girls Varsity won the St. John’s Invitation over the weekend winning all three of their games.
The Laingsburg game ended 3 to 1. Mandy Johnson had one goal and Jordan Rakas put away two goals. Laingsburg scored off a penalty kick in the box.
St. John’s runs a very strict offside trap and be were able to capitalize on it in the first 40 seconds of the game. Mandy Johnson got the first goal followed by a goal by Jordan Rakas.
The last game against Mt Pleasant ended 3 to 0 and again both Jordan and Mandy scored as well as Kelly Edinger.

| YMCA Youth League & Clinic Volunteers | 4/20/09 | The Oak Park YMCA will be running a small league on Saturdays (beginning May 2nd) for kids ages 6 and under and then will be doing a clinic for a handful of older kids.
They would need someone (or a couple) that would be available approximately 12:30 to 4 on Saturdays from May 2nd to June 20th (skipping May 23rd for Memorial Day Weekend).

| Looking for youth coaches (Players from our Holt program) | 4/10/09 | If your interested in working with a young group of kids, we need many players to help out for a few weeks this spring for only a couple hours on a Sunday:
Dates: April 19, 26 and May 3, 10, 17 Times: Each week at 11:45 am till 1:45 pm Ages: the pre-kindergarten/kindergarten age group will be first. At 1:00pm the first and second grade age group will begin instruction and games.

day of tryouts for 2008 is August 11th, 2008 at 7:00 am at the Varsity Soccer
Field.
Players should have running shoes, cleats, shinguards and a water bottle at each session. All practices are mandatory. Every Player must have a completed athletic physical before tryouts (physicals will be available at the Washington Woods on August 7th at 5:30). Contact the school athletic office to pick up a physical form.
Soccer
layers need to be prepared to complete a physical test during the first
week of practice. Players will be evaluated on a timed 1.5 mile run,
sprints, sit-ups, push-ups, speed dribble, shooting, juggling and
small-sided games. Please contact the coaching staff for any questions
on these expectations.

| New Coaching Lineup | 7/18/07 | The fall lineup for Boys Holt Soccer coaching has changed! As the Head Coach for over 10 years, Dave Hornak, moves on to an administrative role within the Holt School District the coaching lineup will be shifting.
Aaron Smith, long time volunteer Varsity assistant, and most recently two year JV Head Coach will be taking the helm as the Varsity coach. He brings with him a rich history of soccer experience including a state title as a high school player, a full college player that includes Indiana University and Philadelphia Textile, a professional career and a long line of coaching experience including college, premier club and Olympic Development Coaching. He also carries a National A License. Aaron has been a teacher at Holt High School since 2003.
